The Dell R740XD2 is a unique box when it comes to storage, providing 2 pull-out shelves each containing a backplane with 12 x 3.5” drives. There are also options for a flex bay, providing an additional 2 x 3.5” bays at the rear of the server.

This storage is controlled by Dell’s PERC10 family of RAID controllers. This allows the server to run a large capacity of storage, often providing an all-in-one rack solution.
