For users looking to upgrade their networks to accommodate more modern technology and features we also present a wide range of C9200, C9300 and C9500 series switches. All our refurbished Cisco networking is restored by our engineers and fully returned to factory settings before being shipped.

The Catalyst Series Explained

When looking at the Cisco Catalyst range, the naming conventions of the switches have carried through every series to provide a sense of comfort when shopping for them.

Immediately you can tell how many ports the switch has, the uplink ports that are integrated onto the switch and whether it supports PoE.

Taking the C9200L-24T-4G as the example, the -24T shows it has 24 ports of non PoE, with the -4G being 1GbE uplink ports. Comparing this with the C9200L-48P-4X, where -48P shows its 48 ports of PoE and -4X denotes its 10GbE SFP+ ports, it can help you make your decision on what is best for your network.

C2960X, C3850 and C4500-X Switches

The 2960X models can offer 24 and 48 port RJ-45 versions, with fixed uplink ports of either 1GbE SFP or 10GbE SFP+ and support stacking. They also come as fixed power supply models, one of the few which still offer this setup.

The C3850 models differ from the C2960X models as they offer the option for dual redundant PSUs and offer many modular uplink options which are also hot swappable. The C3850 range also supports stacking and contain 12, 24 and 48 port SFP and SFP+ fibre options in the range.

Lastly the C4500-X models offer only fibre 10GbE SFP+ models whilst retaining the ability of hot swappable uplink modules and dual power supplies. Whilst not supporting stacking they offer higher density networking sue to the speed of the integrated ports.

C9200, C9300 and C9500 Switches

The C9200 series use dual hot swappable PSUs and fans whilst retaining one of the main features of the 3850 series, the changeable uplink modules. They also come in a C9200L variation which whilst still offers dual redundant PSUs but has fixed fans and uplink ports offering a sleeker size profile.

The C9300 series applies the same principles as the C9200 switches across the board with their PSU redundancy and modular uplinks whilst offering a -L fixed uplink and fan version. The C9300 and C9300-X series are unique in that they can also cross stack for upgradeability considerations.

The C9500 series offers the widest range of port types in the catalyst range with speeds of 10, 25, 40 and 100GbE, in a variety of port configurations such as 12, 16, 24, 32, 40 and 48 to offer maximum flexibility and performance.
