FAQ's

How long will it take to get my server or parts?
Orders consisting of parts only will ship out the same day if the order is received before 2pm, on Next Business Day delivery for UK customers, by courier. Shipping times for overseas customers will vary depending on final destination.  Please contact sales@etb-tech.com for shipping times for your country.  For servers requiring configuration please allow an additional 24 hours for despatch.  Larger orders may take longer but you will be notified of this in writing.

Can I request to have my server on a timed delivery.
Yes, UK timed deliveries are before 10am or 12am. Depending on where you are located and the time of day, we may also be able to offer same day deliveries. There will be an additional fee for these services.  For specific details please contact sales@etb-tech.com.

What is refurbished and refurbished grade B equipment?
All our refurbished equipment is fully tested, cleaned, reset to factory default settings and where possible, upgraded to the latest firmware.
Equipment that is fully working and in good (but not necessarily perfect) cosmetic condition is graded as 'Refurbished'.  If the unit has heavy scratches and is cosmetically damaged it is graded as 'Refurbished Grade B'.

What is the difference between 'New' and 'New Open Boxed'
ETB Technologies purchase new equipment directly from manufacturers.  This equipment is graded 'New'.  Some of the equipment we purchase are customer returns that have never been used but the box has been opened.  These may have been purchased directly from the customer or from the original manufacturer and are graded 'New Open Box'.

What warranty do you offer?
The warranty available will depend on the type of product purchased and its condition.  Each product clearly states warranty available but generally falls within:
Manufacturer's warranty - which will be either the full warranty supplied by the original manufacturer on the new product or the remainder of warranty left on certain refurbished units.
12 Months Warranty - product not covered by a manufacturer's warranty will have ETB's 12 month Return to Base (RTB) warranty (12 months from date of invoicing).  Selected items come with a 90 day RTB warranty.

Can I extend the warranty on my server?
Dell Manufacturer's warranty can be extended on some products, for example, PowerEdge Servers.  The warranty is provided by Dell directly. We can arrange for quotes and warranty extensions on your behalf.  ETB Technologies do not directly extend the warranty on ETB warrantied servers but we have an arrangement with a UK warranty service provider that will provide on-site Next Business Day, 4 hour or 8 hour response warranty.  For full details and pricing contact sales@etb-tech.com

Can I pay by credit card over the phone?
Yes. Please contact the Sales Department on +44 (0) 1556 610167 or your sales representative directly with your credit card information.

Do you offer payment terms?
Yes. Payment terms are considered for customers who have purchased frequently from ETB, with expected annual minimum purchases.
We also offer terms to Schools & Colleges.
If you already have a credit account with ETB, then once you have registered you can request that we enable checkout by purchase order on your account.

What is your typical turnaround time to ship a server?
Our cut off time for servers is 2pm. Pre-configured servers usually ship the same day as the order being placed, it can take an extra 24 hours for servers that are to be built to order. Larger orders may take longer.

What are my shipping options?
We ship via courier for most orders. Depending on the size and weight of the shipment, a pallet courier may be used.

Can I collect my server myself?
Of course.  You may arrange to use your own courier or collect in person.

Do ETB ship Internationally?
Yes we ship worldwide. Overseas deliveries may be subject to local import taxes or duties, which you would be liable for.

Do I need to pay UK VAT?
If you are based in the UK then you must pay UK VAT
If you are outside of the EU and we are shipping to your location then UK VAT will not be added to your oder.
If you are a business outside of the UK but inside the EU, and also have a valid EU VAT number then you will not be charged UK VAT as long as we ship to your location. Business customers with an EU VAT number should enter their VAT number during the registration process or at checkout in the box labelled " EU VAT Number". Your VAT number will be checked automatically online, and if valid, UK VAT will be removed from your order.

How can I track my shipment? 
We will email you tracking information when your order ships.

How does your return policy work?
You may return goods purchased online within 7 days of receiving your original order. You will be offered an exchange if possible or a full refund of your purchase costs, provided that all goods returned are complete and in good working condition.

All requests for the return of goods must be made by email to sales@etb-tech.com.  You will be issued with an RMA number, which must be written on the outside of the packaging.
All goods must be returned in original packaging, at your cost and must be received by ETB Technologies within 14 days of purchase date. Please use a recorded post or courier service to return goods; we are not responsible for returned good until they are received by us.

Once the returned goods are received and inspected we will credit your original payment method with the full amount of your purchase. Please allow 7 days for refunds to be processed. We will check all returned items to ensure that they are complete, working and contain the correct serial numbers.

If you received goods that have been damaged in transit, please report this to us by telephone or email within 1 working day of receipt so that we may make a claim upon our couriers.

Do you supply schools?
Yes, ETB has a long history of supporting schools, colleges and universities with both new and refurbished server, storage and networking equipment. Terms are offered to all educational institutions on receipt of your confirmed PO. For further information please contact sales@etb-tech.com.

I'm looking for a particular part number.  Can you help?
Yes, ETB has a large parts division and an extensive knowledge of Dell parts in particular. If we don't currently have the part in stock we can usually source it for you or suggest alternative part numbers used by the manufacturer.

Do you supply software?
Generally no.  Some software options are availble to educational institutions.

Can you provide EqualLogic Warranty
Warranty on all units is clearly stated on all units. Unless otherwise stated in the description of the unit all warranty on EqualLogic units is a 12 month RTB warranty with ETB.  Generally, you will not be able to obtain EqualLogic warranty on refurbished units even if you already have warrantied EqualLogic equipment within your company.

Do you rent equipment?
Rental of server and storage equipment can be arranged on specific equipment.  Contact sales@etb-tech.com for specific details.

I'm looking for a new server.  Can you provide these in quantity?
Yes, we are an approved Dell PartnerDirect and are able to purchase Dell equipment on your behalf at exceptional prices.  Please email your specific requirements with full specifications to : sales@etb-tech.com and we will come back to you with a quote and estimated lead time from placement of order.

I'm trying to configure a server but it doesn't have the options I want.  Can you help?
